Colorado Springs Giving Vets Free Marijuana For Pain and PTSD Symptoms

A cannabis club in Colorado Springs has begun handing out free marijuana to military veterans in hopes to give them relief from issues such as PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and chronic pain. Many of these veterans suffer from these issues since returning home from various deployments in war zones.

Over the weekend, the Veteran Farmers Alliance group handed out more than half a pound of marijuana and pot edibles to the veterans, averaging a total worth of $1,400.

The founder of the group suffered from these post-war issues himself and is attempting to get other organizations to follow along to support these men and women.

Marijuana for chronic pain may soon become a preferred option for vets as opposed to opioids such as Vicodin or Zohydro after seeing the opioid addiction that has become an epidemic in the U.S in recent years.

Stories of war veterans praising the impact of marijuana continue to flow in, and organizations such as those mentioned above want to help continue to make these numbers even larger.
